Keep moving to make yourself a hard target and learn how to straffe your enemies.

Build up your fleet by saving as many ships from each mission as possible. The bigger your fleet the more firepower it has which makes your life much easier.

Destroy as many enemy ships as possible while they are on approach towards your support fleet to lesson the damage your support fleet will take.

Learn when to let your support ships do the job. When taking on heavily armed emplacements such as outposts cruise in with your fleet and provide supporting fire to ward off enemy fire and let your support ships do the job.

Hoard your weapon powerups and use them only when truely needed.

Destroy as many enemy ships as possible by yourself to receive as many powerups as possible. You do not receive powerups for enemies destroyed by your support ships.

Use auto-fire (by holding spacebar down) and keep shooting at all times particuarly when on approach towards a group of enemy ships.

Shoot incoming enemy fire when appropriate to prevent damage to your ship and support ships.

Learn to use backwards thrusters to break forward momentum and backpeddle when appropriate.

To achieve a high ranking on the high score list destroy as many enemy ships as possible by yourself to receieve points and play the harder difficulty levels so there will be more enemy ships to destroy.

Mission One - Defilers

Destroy all incoming enemies before they reach your support ships to prevent any losses to your support ships. Hoard your powerups.

Mission Two - The Gathering

Destroy all enemies in front of your column to prevent your column from being bogged down in a firefight and to keep them moving towards the jump point. Continue to hoard your powerups.

Mission Three - System's Edge

Take on and destroy each group of United Fleet re-enforcements single handedly before they reach the outpost. If they reach the outpost then that position will be much harder to take. Use your powerups to defeat each group of enemies. Your support ships should only be needed to take the outpost position.

Mission Four - Transport Alley

Pick an area away from the support ships and destroy all transports by yourself. Be sure to destroy any transports that break through to prevent your support ships formation from breaking up when they attempt to chase the ships. Destroy as many transports as possible to get awarded more powerups. This is the perfect time to hoard powerups.

Mission Five – Siege Lines

Provide as much support for your ships as possible. Pay attention to your formation of support ships. Try to keep them together to maximize their firepower. Note how some ships will choose different enemy targets. If some ships break from formation to attack an incoming enemy look at the radar to figure out which enemy they are going after and destroy it quickly so the ships will return to the formation.

Mission Six - Desperate Times

Much as in mission one, destroy the ships before they reach your formation to prevent as much damage as possible to your support fleet. Get as many shield boosts as possible. If your ship takes a lot of damage hide inside your ship formation or an outpost and provide as much support fire as possible. Let your outposts get destroyed before your support ships because they will not carry over to the next mission. Use powerups to take on capital class enemies such as battle cruisers and dreadnoughts. Make maximum use of any double fire power ups that are awarded.

Mission Seven - Starbase 69

Protect your transports at all costs. Much as in transport alley, your support ships will tend to go after targets on one side or the other. Go after the enemies on the other side. Destroy any enemies asap that break through and close in on your transports.

Mission Eight – Carrier Battle

Fly ahead of your support fleet and destroy the enemy carriers as quickly as possible to prevent them from dropping their full compliment of fighters. Much as in mission five attempt to keep your support fleet together and destroy all enemy ships as quickly as possible.

Mission Nine – God of War

Fly ahead and use your power ups to destroy the incoming wing of enemy ships. To take on the outposts wait for your support fleet to catch up so they will redirect some fire away from you and once again use your power ups. Make maximum use of any double fire power ups that are awarded.

Mission Ten – Apocalypse Now

Use your support ships to destroy the incoming wing of enemy ships. Once they are destroyed use your rocket power ups and fly ahead and destroy the enemy starbase as quickly as possible to prevent it from dropping it’s full compliment of enemy fighters and corvettes. Then let your support fleet come in and mop up the outpost by themselves. Remember in this mission your support fleet is expendable.

Once completed sit back and relax as the Earth is obliterated.

Here are the cheat key sequences. To use one, simply type in the sequence of keys while the game is in play. Once a cheat is used, the player's score is no longer kept and is not eligible for the high score list.
