Before inserting any text, set the Text Font and Size using the "Text" Pulldown Menu. Whatever settings you choose at this point will stay active (become the "default" settings) until you change them.
Use the "Attributes/Modes" pulldown (AW3.5) or the "Window/Inspectors/Modes" pulldown (AW4.0), open the "Modes" Inspector Panel .
Click on the box that is labeled "Transparent" and the Mode Inspector will change to look like:
The Mode Inspector may be left open or may be closed by clicking on the "Close" Button (The "X" in the upper right-hand corner.) You are now ready to insert the question text. Using the Text Tool from the Toolbox, type in a question and three answers (one of which is correct.) Your Presentation Window will look something like:
