Below is a list of the default Skyrim installation locations: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data or for 64-bit Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data or for Skyrim Special Edition: D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data 2. Confirm you have the following files in your Skyrim Data folder: Extended Bandit Dialogue.esp Extended Bandit Dialogue.bsa 3. Run the Skyrim Launcher and make sure Extended Bandit Dialogue.esp appears in Data Files and has a tick next to it. 4. Start the game. ***************************************************************** 2. Description ***************************************************************** Extended Bandit Dialogue gives bandits new idle, notice corpse, and combat taunt lines. It does so using speech synthesis (Tortoise TTS + Retrieval-based Voice Conversion) to add new lines of dialogue in a way that should (hopefully) be almost indistinguishable from the original voice acting. Bandits will now: Recognize Notable Opponents: Bandits may now recognize you as the leader of the Companions, Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, College of Winterhold, or as a high-ranking war veteran. Have More Idle Line Variety: You will now hear idle lines from female voice types. React to World State: Such as commenting about the current weather, the state of the Thieves Guild, and so on... See Extended Bandit Dialogue.csv for a list of all new lines of dialogue plus their associated conditions. There are currently 112 new lines of dialogue (50 new Idle lines, 31 new Notice Corpse lines, and 31 new Combat Taunt lines) for each of the 11 voice types used by bandits in the base game. This mod doesn't include any script files so there shouldn't be any issues adding or removing it mid-playthrough. New dialogue is set up in its own quest so it should work well alongside other mods that also affect bandit dialogue. ***************************************************************** 3. Configuration ***************************************************************** You can use the following console command to disable a specific line, if you don't want to hear it: set EBDChance_### to 0 See Extended Bandit Dialogue.csv for a list of lines. For example, to disable the following line: "...might try my hand in the gambling den at Cragslane once we're done here. Gotta make some quick septims..." You would need to run: set EBDIdleChance_004 to 0 ***************************************************************** 4. Change List ***************************************************************** 1.0.0 - Initial Release. 1.0.1 - Fixed taunt conditions that reference the amount of gold the player is carrying. It was checking the amount of gold the bandit had. - Fixed taunt conditions that recognize the player as a guild leader so they're only used when the bandit is fighting the player. ***************************************************************** 5. F.A.Q ***************************************************************** Q. What patch level is required? A. None. Q. Do I need Dawnguard, Hearthfire or Dragonborn or additional plugins like SKSE? A. No. Q. Why am I not hearing any new lines of dialogue? A. Firstly, ensure you've loaded the mod and check the Extended Bandit Dialogue.csv file for a list of new lines and their associated conditions. Only NPCs that are in the BanditFaction faction will use the new lines added by this mod. If you have a mod installed that removes bandits from that faction, it'll prevent this mod from working properly. Q. I don't want to hear a specific line of dialogue. How do I disable it? A. Use the console command in section 3 above. ***************************************************************** 6. Uninstallation ***************************************************************** Extended Bandit Dialogue does not contain any script files so removing it mid-playthrough shouldn't cause any problems. If you want to remove the mod permanently: 1. Close the game. 2. Remove the Extended Bandit Dialogue.esp and Extended Bandit Dialogue.bsa files from your Skyrim data folder. By default this should be either of the following locations: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\data or for 64-bit Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\data 3. Remove Extended Bandit Dialogue.esp from your load list.
