This blaster in Jaks hands has been causing havoc in Haven City. Jak has been on the rampage throughout the whole city, each new ammo that he picks up will allow the gun to enter a new phase.

The badlands are filled with these aggressive creatures, and many more. This particular Metal Head is a Stinger, a subterranean creature who only shows itself when disturbed. This one found Jak on a bad day by the looks of it.
