Splitting a Triangle
You wish to divide an equilateral triangle into two parts with equal area.
You also want to make the dividing line as short as possible.
Is there a better division than the one shown in the diagram below?
An arc gives the shortest dividing line.
Both
of the red lines in the bottom figure result in same-area divisions,
but the green line through the intersection of the red lines is shorter.
Keep repeating this, and the line approaches an arc.
