We've stretched two sides of a triangle to 1.5 times their original length, and colored the area between them blue.
Which is larger, the red or the blue area?
The blue region is larger, at a 4:5 ratio.
Expanding by a 1.5 ratio increases surface area 2.25 times, so the ratio between the red and blue areas is 1:1.25.
