VOYA NUI ONLINE GAME OFFLINE EDITION - READ ME IMPORTANT NOTICE Do not rename, rearrange, move, or delete any of the files or folders in this folder. Doing so will cripple the game. Since the Flash Player detection error has been disabled, it is now your responsibility to make sure you have a supported Flash Player to play the game. If you are playing with the "save" feature from your internet browser, the game may act as if it has not saved. You will delete you browser cache before you play each time. Unless played from the internet or by a local server, this game will not automatically save your progress. To play this game with the auto-save, you will either have to upload it to server with PHP support or use a local server program like XAMPP (instructions below). DIFFERENCES FROM THE ONLINE VERSION THAT LEGO HAD The Flash Player detection error has been disabled. The save feature is not original but a reconstruction. You can use cheat codes as a substitute for a save feature if you do not intend to use the save feature. With cheat codes, you can continue from any chapter and give yourself all of the items in the game. All of the cheat codes can be found in the "CheatCodes" Text Document (CheatCodes.txt) file. METHODS OF PLAY This game can be played from your internet browser, a stand-alone Flash Player, or by the included EXE (see instructions below). You must have Flash Player installed to play the game from your internet browser. Version requirements are Flash Player 8 or higher. This game has been tested to work in Flash Players 8 through 10. HOW TO INSTALL THE GAME 1. Install a local server program like XAMPP. This game was designed to be played with XAMPP, however, it is possible to set up the game for other server programs. 2. Run the file "Installer" VBScript Script File (Installer.vbs) and follow the prompts (If this does not work, manually copy the "voyanui" folder to the top-level server folder [most-likely "C:\xampp\htdocs\" for XAMPP for Windows]). -- HOW TO PLAY WITH SAVE FEATURE -- (Installation required. XAMPP must first be run. Only the Apache program must be run. Unless you run it as a service, you will have to re-run XAMPP every time Apache is stopped [i.e. when you turn off your computer].) HOW TO OPEN IN AN INTERNET BROWSER: Open "Launcher" HTML Document (Launcher.html) in your internet browser. Alternately you can enter this location into the URL box of your internet browser: http://localhost/voyanui/Launcher.html HOW TO OPEN EXE: Open "Launcher" VBScript Script File (Launcher.vbs). Alternately, open the installed "voyanui" folder, and open "Launcher" Application (Launcher.exe) (most likely "C:\xampp\htdocs\voyanui\Launcher.exe" for XAMPP for Windows). HOW TO OPEN IN A STAND-ALONE FLASH PLAYER: 1. Launch your stand-alone Flash Player. 2. Open the file at this location: http://localhost/voyanui/Launcher.swf -- HOW TO PLAY WITH WITHOUT SAVE FEATURE -- (Installation not required.) HOW TO OPEN IN AN INTERNET BROWSER: Open "Launcher-NoSave" HTML Document (Launcher-NoSave.html) in your internet browser. HOW TO OPEN EXE: Open "Launcher-NoSave" VBScript Script File (Launcher-NoSave.vbs). Alternately, open the "voyanui" folder, and open "Launcher" Application (Launcher-NoSave.exe). HOW TO OPEN IN A STAND-ALONE FLASH PLAYER: Open the "voyanui" folder, and open "Launcher" Shockwave Flash Object (Launcher.swf) in your stand-alone Flash Player. HOW TO RESTART THE GAME: If the built-in restart feature does not work, or you need to manually restart the game, open both "Profile" Text Document (Profile.txt) and "BreedandName" Text Document (BreedandName.txt) in a text editor, and delete all the text inside (make sure you erase the text in the correct files). LIST OF COMMON ERRORS AND THEIR MEANINGS - "ERROR: You must have Flash Player 8. Download it from www.macromedia.com" This error formerly came up if you did not have Flash Player 8 or 9. This error has been disabled. - "ERROR: Connection failed with Worker module" This is most likely because workerthread.swf was not run or did not run properly. PROBLEMS TO WATCH OUT FOR (Please note that these problems may not affect you.) The game will sometimes freeze up. If this happens, click on the little blue star in the top right corner and select "Back to home". This will take you back to the main menu where you can select "CONTINUE". This will reload the game and bypass this glitch. In Chapter 3, there is a glitch in which if you free the Matoran slave and then leave without his following you, he will disappear, and you will have to use cheat codes to bypass this. To avoid this problem, repeatedly talk to him until he will follow you around the room, then leave. There is a glitch in which Reidak does not attack you in Chapter 7. If this happens, click on the little blue star in the top right corner and select "Back to home". Back at the main menu select "CONTINUE". Now walk to the Chamber of Truth, and discuss with Vezok. If you do not defeat Vezok in Chapter 7, there is a glitch that will prevent you from continuing. You will have to use cheat codes to bypass this. If you defeat the Piraka early in Chapter 8 (before it is your mission to), there is a glitch that will prevent you from advancing through this area later when you are meant to defeat the Piraka, because the game does not know they were defeated. If a Piraka attacks you, click on the little blue star in the top right corner and select "Abandon Fight". Sometimes, during battle, there is a glitch in which an enemy, particularly Hakaan, will freeze on its turn. If this happens, click on the little blue star in the top right corner and select "Back to home". This will take you back to the main menu where you can select "CONTINUE". This will reload the game and bypass this glitch. Defeating the Lava Ape that blocks the log bridge near the beginning of the game will cause the game will act as if the Lava Ape is still blocking the bridge and the bridge will become impassable until you restart. If all the enemies seem to be invincible upon bringing up the game, completely close out of the game, and bring it up again. If the game asks you to disable cheat codes to continue, this is most likely because it wants you to disable the "god" cheat. To bypass this, re-enter the "god" cheat code. INTERESTING NOTES The Piraka in the game are seen in their prototype forms. The Kanohi Ignika in this game is seen in an alternate form. It only appears in this form in this game and the BIONICLE Heroes video game. One of the cheat codes, "onemorenight", seems to have been created to unlock more levels; however, it will not actually do anything. Some files have unused portions inside them, some of which hint that the "onemorenight" cheat code was meant to unlock Mahri Nui-based levels. There are areas of the game that can only be accessed with the use of cheat codes. The Hoto Bug was meant to be incorporated in the game, but never was. It can only be viewed in-game with cheat codes. File "0", in the "items" folder beneath the "clips" folder, is an item that does not seem to appear in the game at all.
