Make sure you have a supported version of a Shockwave-compatible browser.
Read these instructions.
For Windows 95, 98 or NT
Download the Shockwave installer from the Macromedia site.
Be sure to get the "Authorware
5.1 Full Web Player" Version! This is the ONLY one that will
work!
Make a note of the directory where you want to save the Shockwave Installer.
Write the name of the file you are downloading.
You can use the "Find..." command to locate the file later if you need to.
*Note for Windows 95 customers
running Novell network software: The Novell software will shorten the Shockwave
Installer filename once you download it. For example, "Shockwave Installer.exe"
will become "!Shockwa~.exe". The Shockwave Installer will still work
with this shorter filename.
Quit your browser.
Locate the Installer file using "Explorer" or "My Computer". Double-click the Shockwave Installer icon. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
Relaunch your browser.
You can test Shockwave's ability to play Authorware media by going to the "Quiz on Lesson One" on this site.
