Today has been an incredulously long day, but a day packed with a lifetime of experiences. First we went to some radio interviews, and then we dashed across town to this old Victorian house where Helen Sweet has started what I kind of call “A Bridal Recycling ecosystem.” The house is filled to the brim with gowns and accessories, some new and some used. Here’s how it works: a bride that might not have the money to afford a wedding dress can come to this house and shuffle through the dresses and then pay what she can for it. If she has no money, it’s free. Any proceeds go to charities dealing with children who have cancer. It’s a multi-leveled charity. I got to dress up in a wedding dress. SO much fun. Felt like I was a kid again, playing dress up. What a wonderful charity.

That evening, I sat in on the Beatz to da Streets program. There were about twenty kids there, all inner city kids that have obviously not had the easiest lives. I’m going to borrow a quote from a song to sum this moving experience into one phrase: Music is the language of us all.
