The land of Termina is living on borrowed time, and without Link’s intervention its final day will dawn very soon…
At the very centre of Termina lies Clock Town, a bustling township which is surrounded by the vast Termina Field. Stretching off in each direction you’ll find mountains, swamps, an eerie desert, and even the ocean shore! Find out more about Termina below…
Step outside Clock Town and you’ll find yourself in Termina Field. A vast open land that stretches for miles in every direction, you can reach all the different areas of Termina from here.
Clock Town is the economic hub that keeps Termina ticking; situated in the very centre of the land, it’s perfectly placed for travellers from all regions! Every year, all sorts of people from across the land gather here and wear homemade masks to celebrate the Carnival of Time. With the festivities fast approaching, much of Clock Town’s populace is working around the clock to get ready – and many of them could use a helping hand, too.
The marshy area to the south of Clock Town is home to the Dekus, a tribe of strange, plant-like woodland creatures. Recently the waters have grown murky and poisonous, severely hampering the area’s tourist attractions. The quick-to-anger Deku King rules over the Southern Swamp from the Deku Palace, though his daughter the Deku Princess has gone missing since the swamp became toxic…
The rock-munching, kind-hearted Gorons reside in the treacherously cold mountains of Snowhead, to the north of Termina. Though the Gorons waited for spring to arrive, an eternal winter has descended on the area, leaving them shivering under the harsh conditions. To combat the cold conditions, many of the Gorons have holed up inside the Goron Shrine.
The Great Bay, west of Clock Town, boasts scorching sun and endless waters. The Zora, an elegant race of underwater folk, live submerged in the vast caverns of Zora Hall, but recently the waters have grown murky and the sea’s temperature has become too warm for aquatic life. The Gerudo Pirates also reside in a fortress on the seaside, and continually cause problems for anybody in the area.
A spooky valley to the east of Clock Town, Ikana Canyon is a cursed land full of spirits that cannot rest. Where once a great monarchy, the Ikana Kingdom, stood, now lies a wasteland that only ghosts – or the brave – roam. Even now, the subjects of Ikana remain entirely dedicated to their throne.
