Talbica features smart input. You don’t have to press “Shift” to type each element with capital letter. Just type “naoh”, and Talbica will recognize it as “NaOH”.

If for some reason you still need to react Cobalt (Co) with something and Talbica stubbornly types Carbon monoxide (CO), just press “Backspace” after typing “CO” and type “O” again. This will switch the input mode.

Type a compound chemical formula in the search field. A button “Show info” will appear on the right.

To learn more about the compound, click “Show info” or press “Enter”, this will open information card.

Press “Enter” again to hide the information card and switch to the list of chemical reactions. Press “Escape” or click “Hide info” to just hide the card.
Type a compound chemical formula in the search field. A list of reactions will drop down, that is split into two parts. On the left side the compound is a reactant, on the right side it is a product. The compound is highlighted blue in each reaction.

Click a reaction to open it, or use keyboard arrows to navigate through list and press “Enter” to open. This will open balanced equation of the reaction and open its information card. Each reaction has a short description, including reaction type, textual names of reactants and products, such conditions as temperature and pressure. Properties of reacting compounds can be viewed in the same card.

Type left part of a chemical reaction. Talbica’s database contains 6000 reactions. If the reaction is in the database, you will see a button “Solve” on the right.

Click it and get the right part of the reaction.

Talbica knows about 6000 reactions. If a reactions is not in the database, no information will be displayed. Still, you can balance its equation.
Type an unknown reaction in the search field. A button “Balance” will appear on the right. Click it or press “Enter”.

This will balance the equation by using mathematical methods.

Type a compound name in the search field. If the compound is found, Talbica will display its name and chemical formula.

Press tab to substitute compound name with its chemical formula and continue working with it.
