We Tried to Draw Olaf From Memory and It Was Adorably Hilarious

The holidays are just around the corner, and that means that soon we will all be enjoying the music and magic of “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure”! To get us warmed up for this Frozen featurette, which is playing in theatres before Disney•Pixar’s Coco for a limited time beginning November 22, we decided to see if we could draw Olaf from memory. It’s surprisingly difficult, as Olaf has a lot of charming details that make him the cuddly snowman that we all know and love. First, here is a photo of Olaf for reference:

Now let’s start with my drawing:

We all know by now that my drawing style has not evolved since I was a child, and this Olaf was no exception. I also forgot if Olaf wore a hat or not, so I threw a Santa hat into the mix, because holidays.

Amelia actually remembered Olaf’s signature head twigs, and captured his essence beautifully:

This Olaf is just too cute to handle, but something’s missing. Can you tell what it is?

Michelle’s Olaf is equally as cute, and also missing the same feature:

Rachel remembered: it’s the buttons!

This is a classic snowman. Not necessarily the Olaf-iest, but definitely a solid snow friend.

Crystal’s Olaf is pretty fantastic.

She even remembered the buttons! But what did she forget? It’s Olaf’s signature expressive eyebrows!

In fact, almost everyone forgot the eyebrows, except for Shelby.

Now this is a work of art.

Do you think you could draw Olaf from memory and get every detail right? We’ll be practicing for next time by watching “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure,” in theatres November 22, playing right before Coco.
