Pixar Fest Is Coming to Disneyland Resort and We Have a Lot of Emotions

Truth: We love Pixar movies. They have touched our hearts for years, making us laugh and even cry—sometimes both at the same time. Get ready because now’s your chance to celebrate everything we love about Pixar at Pixar Fest, coming to Disneyland and Disneyland California Adventure beginning April 13, 2018.

Give us a sec while we clear our schedule in April because this is a limited time event that we don’t want to miss out on! It’s our chance to witness the stories from Disney•Pixar films such as Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, and UP—coming to life. There will be a fireworks spectacular, two favorite parades, new décor, atmosphere entertainment, creatively themed food and beverages, and exclusive event merch—all with a fresh Pixar twist! Here’s a breakdown of everything we can look forward to:

“Together Forever—A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular”
This new fireworks show comes to life through memorable music and dazzling pyrotechnics projected on iconic park locations: Sleeping Beauty Castle, the water screens of the Rivers of America, the façade of “it’s a small world,” and the buildings of Main Street, U.S.A. The grand tradition of Tinker Bell flying over Sleeping Beauty Castle also gets a Pixar twist, with a special flyover by Buzz Lightyear. It tells a heartwarming and emotional story celebrating the theme of friendship—an ever-present concept in Pixar animation—that begins with the meeting of unlikely Pixar pals who overcome obstacles and forge everlasting friendships. Sounds like a classic Pixar tearjerker, and we’re so down.

“Pixar Play Parade”
For the first time, this parade will make its way through Disneyland Park—and it’s being led by someone new! The parade will begin just as all Pixar films have, with an appearance by Pixar’s iconic and adorable lamp, except this time characters from UP and Inside Out will be joining in on the celebration. Yes to all of this.

“Paint the Night”
Also on April 13, this popular parade will return—to Disney California Adventure. The parade features a variety of characters from Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., and Cars—and another Pixar story will join. We can’t wait!

Pixar Shorts Film Festival
This will take place at the Sunset Showcase Theater in Disney California Adventure’s Hollywood Land, rotating favorites such as “For the Birds” and “Lava.” Also, the Paradise Gardens area will feature a new Pixar-themed musical troupe—along with the chance to meet and greet your favorite Pixar characters!
