Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire
The Champion
Pokémon Trainers from every corner of the world train around the clock, year in and year out. Their aim: to one day rise to the top of the Pokémon League and become Champion! The first step on the path to glory is to defeat Gym Leaders from across the region in Pokémon battles. Let’s meet some from Hoenn!
Your Trainer’s father, Norman, uses Normal-type Pokémon and is utterly devoted to honing his battling skills.
Norman’s Pokémon: Slaking
A Pokémon who lounges around all day long.
Preferring to feed itself on grass within easy
reaching distance, it only bothers to move when
it runs out of readily-available food. It may look
like it’s completely lazy, but it is actually storing up the power it needs to unleash ferocious counter-attacks.

Roxanne specialises in Rock-type Pokémon. Extremely talented, she works as Gym Leader at the same time as studying at the Pokémon Trainer School in Rustboro City. She may be young, but she’s got her head screwed on, and analyses everything with careful logic.
Roxanne’s Pokémon: Nosepass
A Pokémon with a magnetic nose that points due north at all times. When fellow Nosepasses encounter each other, they are repelled and cannot meet nose to nose. When it is in trouble, it can attract iron and use it as a form of improvised armour.

Brawly specialises in Fighting-type Pokémon. A cool guy with a no-nonsense personality, his love of surfing has given him well-honed arms and legs, as well as a perfect sense of balance.
Brawly’s Pokémon: Makuhita
A Pokémon that never gives up, it’s dedicated to getting buff and bashes tree trunks from dusk till dawn in order to build up its muscles. If you’re ever searching for its lair, keep your eyes peeled for all the trees that have been reduced to matchsticks in the immediate vicinity.

Wattson specialises in Electric-type Pokémon. The city he grew up in serves as a meeting place for all sorts, which has made him a sociable soul. All it really takes to make him happy is to chat to someone new. He believes that laughter is the key to a long and healthy life.
Wattson’s Pokémon: Magneton
Magneton can release vast amounts of magnetism and seriously high voltage. Its reputation for messing up machinery means that towns tend to sound the alarm when it approaches. It can even evaporate water, such is the voltage that crackles around it.

Flannery specialises in Fire-type Pokémon. Having only just become a Gym Leader, Flannery is determined that no one will ever underestimate her. The hot springs in Lavaridge Town are famed for their beautifying properties, and Flannery is happy to take advantage of them!
Flannery’s Pokémon: Torkoal
A Pokémon that is constantly mining for coal. It flings fuel into the holes in its shell to produce energy. You can tell a Torkoal’s home because of the fog of dirty black smoke hanging above it.
