Quiz: What Should Your New Year’s Resolution Be Based on Your Favorite Disney Heroine?

Oh My Disney Contributor
Disney heroines are the type of people that we strive to be. Now that 2018 is here, why not make this a goal for the New Year? After repeatedly watching these heroines win at life in our favorite Disney films, we’re feeling pretty inspired to channel our inner Disney heroine and be a warrior like A Wrinkle in Time’s Meg Murry, or a dreamer like Beauty and the Beast’s Belle. Choose your favorite Disney heroine below and we’ll tell you what your New Year’s resolution should be this year:
Pick a Disney Heroine:
Your New Year’s resolution is to stick to a sleeping schedule!
We’re not talking about an eternal slumber like Maleficent’s curse on Aurora, but we are talking about going to sleep on time, and (attempting to) rise and shine early every morning … and refraining from hitting the snooze button more than once!
Your New Year’s resolution is to spend less time on social media!
Cinderella only had until midnight to make the most of every moment. Try taking in the sights and sounds around you every once in a while instead of scrolling through your newsfeed, and you can live in the moment too!
Your New Year’s resolution is to be more active!
Elizabeth Swann isn’t one for sitting around. This year, make more of an effort to match her adventurous spirit, get out of the house, and be active!
Your New Year’s Resolution is to make a new friend!
Belle taught us not to judge a book by its cover—and that we might not realize someone we just met is our Prince Charming (or a lifelong friend) until chapter three! Talk to someone new and who knows? It could be one of your most rewarding friendships down the road.
Your New Year’s resolution is to start journaling!
Document your best moments—or even reflect on your challenging ones—by writing down your thoughts in a journal! Whether it’s documenting your dreams as soon as you wake up or jotting down spontaneous ideas that come to your mind, you’ll find that exploring your imagination like Alice is a journey in itself!
Your New Year’s resolution is to carry out random acts of kindness!
Giselle doesn’t let the cynicism she experiences in the real world change her perspective on life! Whether it’s donating your time to those in need or holding the door open for someone, you’ll find that spreading positivity with small acts of kindness is an easy but effective way for you to help change the world for the better.
Your New Year’s resolution is to find a reason to smile or laugh everyday!
Find a reason to smile or laugh everyday—even if it’s not the best day of your life. You’ll come to realize that all it takes to make a “good day” is to change your attitude! Like Mrs. Whatsit, you can choose to add comic relief to any situation.
Your New Year’s resolution is to cross a destination off your bucket list!
You might not be able to wrinkle time and space like Mrs. Which and travel to different planets, but a more feasible resolution would be to travel to a new country, state, or even city that you’ve always wanted to explore!
Your New Year’s resolution is to read more!
There is so much knowledge out there waiting to be read—all you have to do is flip open the pages of a new book. Maybe then you’ll be able to flawlessly quote famous literary and philosophical lines just like Mrs. Who!
Your New Year’s resolution is to not compare yourself to others!
Meg reaches her full potential not by dwelling on her self-perceived flaws, but by focusing her energy into her strengths! This year, spend less time comparing yourself to others and more time appreciating your own unique qualities.
Now that you know your New Year’s resolution, watch Storm Reid, who plays Meg Murry in A Wrinkle in Time, find out which Disney heroine she is:
