"Avatar worlds are perhaps the most interesting VR at the dawn of the millennium because they are accessible to millions of users, and hundreds of builders are experimenting with these shared worlds to express their vision of virtual reality."
The Transfigured, Transmogrified Virtual World, Michael Heim

Please note that these are still works in progress....

Lost Vegas - The desert is weird, and Vegas is even weirder.  Lost Vegas World plays a pop-cultural riff on the long gone retro-Vegas of yesteryear.  Here, the Rat Pack performs nightly in a Haunted Desert Inn, as Howard Hughes wanders dazed across sun scorched sands.  Meanwhile, the Shangri-La Showgirls' Hot Rod  Revue is revving up in the Jet Set Room -- or, you can try and navigate the maze of hallways heading to the Space Lounge. You can even follow the Lost Highway out of the city to explore a full-sized, old western ghost town.

An insanely huge world, it's literally miles across and will take a few minutes to download via dial-up.  Currently still under construction.

Shangri-La - This was built sometime in early April, months before the Lost Vegas idea...  but that mid-60s girl group look seemed to fit when filtered thru the lens of a lounge act -- replete, if you please, with circa '67 psychedelic showbiz schmaltz.  Slip into a Tom Jones or Nancy Sinatra avatar and get with what's happenin'.  Music by The Dave Myers Effect.

Electric Fattyland - There's not much to it, but people seem to like it.  So here it is.

Monique's Mystical Meditation Room - Monique will soon write something wonderful here.
