The Javaders discussion list is a place where you can discuss tactics, scores, future enhancements, etc... with myself and other Javader players.
Upon subscription, the listserver will send a confirmation message to you to check that you want to be joined to the list.
Messages will not be sent to you until the listserver receives a positive acknowledgement from yourself.
This lets the listserver check that your email address is valid and also prevents other people maliciously joining you to the list.
List Code of Conduct
- No spamming the list (the continued posting of website addresses/links for promotion).
- Posts should be legal and decent. Do not post URLs that point to inappropriate content, such as pornography or illegal software.
- No personal attacks are to be made on anyone during your use of the list. Do not abuse someone because of their race, colour, sex, or religious beliefs.
- Do not provoke others or cause trouble. If you wish to argue with people then go to icq, email or Private Messaging.
- All ages play Javaders and for this reason excessive and unnecessary use of bad language will not be allowed.
- Please try and keep posts on topic. Off topic posts may be removed at the discretion of myself.
I hope that this list enjoys a good community spirit/atmosphere, and it's hoped that these simple guidelines will help
to promote that. So finally, a quick lesson on netiquette:
Source: BY Gaming Forum
You should be aware that people will have different opinions from yourself and be able to handle that in a mature manner.
Act as you would in real life; remember it's other people out there you're talking to. The Internet brings so many people together yet makes it very impersonal without use of gesture or expression, so make use of smilies to show your mood or intent; it makes it a lot simpler and eases the chance of misunderstanding!
Lurk before you leap; its often best to get a feel for the forum your in and realising whats acceptable before delving in. Something thats new to you may be old hat to others. Have a good read and find out first.
You don't have to be cheery and happy to use the forums, but make a bad reputation for yourself by moaning etc, and you may find it causes trouble for you. Remember we're all here to share common interests.
Be forgiving of others; we were all newbies once. When someone makes a mistake, whether it's a spelling error, a stupid question or a wrong answer, be kind about it. If it's a minor error you may not need to say anything. Even if you feel strongly about it, think twice before reacting. Having good manners yourself doesn't give you license to correct everyone else.
Note on Privacy: No third-party or list member will be able to gain access to email addresses of others on the list.
