The Nintendo 3DS XL screens are around 90% bigger than those on the Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 2DS system.

The battery life of the Nintendo 3DS XL has been extended, allowing you to enjoy gaming on-the-go for even longer.

Nintendo 3DS XL = Approx. 3.5 - 6.5 hours
Nintendo 3DS = Approx. 3 - 5 hours

The Nintendo 3DS XL comes with a 4GB SD card, which means you'll have even more space to save games you've downloaded from Nintendo eShop, along with 3D photos you've taken, videos and much more.
3D gaming without the need for special glasses can be experienced anytime, anywhere. The level of 3D is entirely up to you and you always have the option to play in pure 2D by adjusting the 3D depth slider if you prefer.
