Buckingham Palace is located on the western edge of the image, with St James's Park to the east of it. The beige coloured rectangle to the east of St James's Park is Horseguards Parade where the annual Trooping of the Colour takes place. North of here is Trafalgar Square where the blue of the fountain pools and Nelson's Column can be seen within the image. Across the River Thames is the Millennium Wheel, or London Eye, before it was erected in late 1999. It is located just north of the old London County Hall, adjacent to Jubilee Gardens. Waterloo Station is on the eastern edge of the image, with the railway running south. The square area of parkland in the south is the Westminster School Playing Fields. The bridges spanning the Thames are, from the south to the north, Lambeth Bridge, Westminster Bridge, Hungerford Bridge and Waterloo Bridge. The group of buildings adjacent to the southern end of Waterloo Bridge in the top right of the image form part of the South Bank complex.
