To download the latest installation package, visit the CYBERWORLD web site: www.cyberworldcorp.com, and follow the Product link to the Downloads page. 2. In the CYBERWORLD download page, indicate whether you have IE4 or higher installed on your computer. If you do not have IE4 or higher installed on your system, and you indicate this by selecting the appropriate checkbox, then the installation package that you download will also include IE5. The CYBERWORLD Browser requires that IE4 or greater is installed on your system. 3. Follow the instructions in the dialog boxes that appear to complete the install. 4. You will be asked during the installation for a user name that can be used to identify you. This user name is used by the CYBERWORLD Browser to create a profile to save your user preferences. These user preferences includes such things as Web window location, navigation speed and height of the viewpoint. You may wish to use this feature if several people use the same computer. To enable this feature, when the installation has completed, select the Options button in the Browser's tool bar and uncheck "No login at startup". 5. If a Netscape browser is installed on your system, during the installation of the CYBERWORLD Browser, you can indicate that you wish to register the borg protocol with Netscape. This will allow you to launch QBORGs from within the Netscape browser, by typing: borg://www.mydomain.com/myborg.borg. We recommend that you do register Netscape with the borg protocol. 6. When you load a QBORG (3-D world) for the first time, you will be asked to Register the CYBERWORLD Browser. You must register the Browser with CYBERWORLD to continue to load QBORGs. Release Notes ------------------- 1. Once the installation has completed, visit the CYBERWORLD website at www.cyberworldcorp.com and click on 'Gallery'. Here you will find sample worlds, or QBORGs to explore. 2. For information on how to navigate in QBORGs, how to open QBORGs, and general CYBERWORLD Browser information, please select the Help button on the tool bar. 3. If you are encountering performance problems, try selecting the Low Memory Mode in the Options->Graphics tab. You can also try reducing the color depth in the same dialog. 4. If you have a branded Browser that is powered by CYBERWORLD, then installing the CYBERWORLD Browser will replace it. 5. If you have Windows 95 and Internet Explorer 4 installed on your computer, and you run into problems using your computer's 3-D graphics hardware with our Browser, then we suggest that you upgrade to Internet Explorer 5.5 by visiting www.microsoft.com. 6. With certain high speed DSL connections, the Browser will say that it is 'Offline' when it is really online. To solve this problem, there are two things that you can try. 1) Exit the Browser and then restart the Browser. 2) If the problem persists, then run the "Repair" option on Internet Explorer. The "Repair" option is available when Internet Explorer is selected in Add/Remove programs found in the Control Panel. 7. In most cases, using your computer's 3-D graphics hardware is faster than using software rendering. However, in some cases, the opposite may be true. You have full control over whether you use software or hardware rendering. You can exercise this control by adjusting the values of the Use Hardware at Startup and Use Hardware Now options in the Graphics tab of the Options dialog box.
