Ice Breaker Alpha In the year 2078, mankind's colonization of space begins. Earth launches several fleets of specially designed spacecraft to clear away all hazardly sized chunks of ice floating around key routes between the planets of our solar system. As a pilot of one of these 'ice breaker' spacecraft, your mission is to destroy all dangerous ice chunks in your sector, to clear the way for the eventual increase in galactic traffic, as new colonies are formed throughout that galaxy. Game Instructions Pilot your spacecraft with the arrow keys, and press the space bar to fire your particle laser beam. Use your weapon to destroy ice chunks, and any attacking aliens in and around your sector. Some ice chunks contain green crystals, which you must also collect. Once you have collected 8 green crystals, you must then dock with your base ship, to transfer the crystals. To dock with your base ship simply fly your spacecraft into the docking ship's blue tractor beam (once you have collected 8 green crystals). You will see a flashing blue message in the top center of your screen when docking is requred. Once you have successfuly docked, your shields will be recharged, bonus points will be given, and then you will be relaunched to advance to the next sector. Some aliens will drop blue crystals when they are destroyed. These blue crystals are powerups, collect these to enhance your ships capabilites/power. Tips and Hints Hold down the [Space Bar] for continuous rapid fire (particularly after you have collected the rapid fire powerup). Bumping into ice chunks with your ship will damage your ship's shields. However, once you have collected the super shield (invulnerability) powerup, for a limited time, you can destroy ice chunks by ramming into them. Bonus points are awarded for ramming ice chunks while you have this powerup. Don't fly near the edges of the screen for too long, ice chunks can come flying at you from here without much warning.. Check for flashing message in the top center of the screen, this will alert you to crystals that might be available, whether your shields are dangerously low, or whether you are required to dock or not..
